He is the first doctor in Punjab to complete the prestigious fellowship from Digestive diseases department of Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai and has performed over 40000 basic and advanced endoscopic procedures including over 2500 ERCPs. Frequently invited as faculty for the academic sessions in National and International conferences, he has contributed articles to indexed national journals and has also been a key figure in hosting several National conferences and meetings. He is first in the region to have been trained in the complex technique of Endoscopic Ultrasound.
